The Jacksonville Public Library will continue offering computer training classes for the general public from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, every Monday and Thursday morning from April 27th to May 28th. These classes are provided through the auspices of the Loan Star Libraries Program, and will be taught by David Anderson.

Topics covered will be "Basics of Windows", "File Management (or, Where's My Stuff?)", "Basics of Internet I & II", "Basics of E-mail I & II", "Using Microsoft Word", "Using Microsoft Excel", and "Using Microsoft PowerPoint."

Seating is limited, and each class is limited to thirteen people. Classes will be held from 8:30 am - 11:30 am on the following dates:

  • Basics of Windows (April 27)

  • File Management (April 30)

  • Basics of Internet I (May 4)

  • Basics of Internet II (May 7)

  • Basics of E-mail I (May 11)

  • Basics of E-mail II (May 14)

  • Using Microsoft Word (May 18)

  • Using Microsoft Excel (May 21)

  • Using Microsoft PowerPoint (May 28)

  • Registration is on a class-by-class basis.
  • Each session is first-come, first-served.
  • Signup sheets will be available at the circulation desk.
  • Library staff will call you the day prior to the class as a reminder.
  • If you sign up on the waiting list, you may be called if someone is unable to attend the class.
    • Finally, please note that registration is more of a courtesy than a requirement. If you didn't sign up, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't attend. If you didn't register for the class, but would like to attend, by all means do. If a seat is available, you can have it.
