Question: How do I add an attachment to an email?
Answer: The way you add attachments to an email varies according to what you use for your email. In case you're wondering, an attachment is a file on your computer that you sent to someone else in an email message. First, find the file you wish to attach. This is usually the hard part. Then you start a new email message normally. In that window where you compose the message, if your email is web based (Yahoo!, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.) you will find a link to add attachments. If your email is Outlook Express or Outlook, you can usually just drag the file onto the area where you type your message and drop it. When adding attachments, be considerate of your recipient's connection speed. An email with an attachment is potentially much larger than a message without one. If the recipient is using dial-up, don't send attachments larger than a megabyte or so.

Cool Site: www.worldwidetelescope.org If you're home schooling your kids or you just want them to have a greater appreciation for Astronomy, check this site out. From their site: The WorldWide Telescope (WWT) is a Web 2.0 visualization software environment that enables your computer to function as a virtual telescope bringing together imagery from the best ground and space-based telescopes in the world for a seamless exploration of the universe. It combines photos from the Hubble, the Chandra X-ray observatory, CalTech, NASA, and others to turn your computer into a virtual observatory. I've been playing with it and have seen tours of the cosmos that are just gorgeous. As I've played with it, I don't find it easy to operate, exactly, but I suspect I just haven't gotten used to it yet.

Cool Gadget: This one is not terribly useful, and at $400 it's a bit pricey, but it's definitely cool. The Sony Rolly has been available in Japan and is basically a dancing robot that fits in the palm of your hand. It is available in black or white, has speakers to play music through, a couple of arms that look like they also serve as covers for the speakers, and two wheels to let the Rolly well... roll. Or spin, or just move around. It has software that allows you to choreograph its movements and comes preloaded with a few pre-choreographed songs like the theme from 2001 and some others. It has 2GB of memory to store your songs. Take a look at this thing. I'll have a link to the Engadget article on the forums.

It's All “Geek” To Me: Hotspot – A hotspot is any place where you can use the wireless networking built into your laptop to connect to the Internet. Usage of a hotspot may incur a cost, depending on the provider behind it. For instance, most hotels offer free wireless. The more upscale hotels may charge as much as $10/day to use their wireless, though. Here in Jacksonville, McDonald's wireless Internet costs money, but Dairy Queen's doesn't, so it varies.
